Bossov Ballet Theatre performed its classic Christmas Nutcracker ballet at the Waterville Opera House in December 2005.

While Andrei Bossov's Nutcracker is religiously fixed to the old E.T.A. Hoffman fairy tale, and in that sense traditional, the bursts of humor, exceptional acting, and original choreography, reflect the personal touches of Andrei the internationally acclaimed choreographer. As a St. Petersburg-trained classicist, knowledgeable of every step of the circa 1892 choreography of Lev Ivanov and Tchaikovsky's musical score, the nuances that have made the ballet timeless live on. Andrei himself took the stage in the 2005 performances as Herr Drosselmeyer.
